RoHS Certification Of Heat Shrinkable Products

Hello, everyone, today, we introduce an important certification index for Heat Shrinkable Products: ROHS certification. ROHS certification is environmental protection certification. This test is mainly aimed at electronic information products, so that they can not contain lead, mercury, cadmium, hexavalent chromium, polybrominated diphenyl ether and polybrominated biphenyl and other toxic and harmful substances.

On January 27, 2003, the European Parliament and the Council of the European Union adopted Directive 2002/95/EC, The Restriction of the use of Certain Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Equipment . The basic contents are as follows: Since July 1, 2006, six harmful substances, such as lead, mercury, cadmium, hexavalent chromium, polybrominated biphenyl (PBB) and polybrominated diphenyl ether (PBDE), have been restricted in the new electronic and electrical equipment products put into the market. Since the RoHS Directive was issued, it has become a formal law within the scope of the EU since February 13, 2003; before August 13, 2004, EU member states have been converted into their own laws/regulations; on February 13, 2005, the European Commission reviewed the scope of the Directive and formulated additional items of banned substances list taking into account the development of new science and technology; After July 1, 2006, the EU market will formally prohibit the sale of products with excessive content of six substances.

Four harmful metal elements (Cd, Cd, Pb, Pb, Hg, Hg, Hg, Cr6 + hexavalent chromium) need to be tested for the plastic material of heat shrinkable pipes. In addition, brominated flame retardants (PBB/PBDE) need to be tested.

At the same time, different packaging materials also need to be tested for heavy metals in packaging materials (94/62/EEC)

According to the requirements of EU WEEE&RoHS Directive, the products are separated according to the material, and the harmful substances are detected by different materials. The following is the upper limit concentration of six harmful substances in RoHS:

Cadmium: less than 100ppm

Lead: less than 1000 ppm (steel alloy less than 2500 ppm, aluminum alloy less than 4000 ppm, copper alloy less than 40000 ppm)

Mercury: less than 1000ppm

Six valence chromium: less than 1000ppm

Polybrominated biphenyl PBB: less than 1000ppm

Polybrominated dimethyl ether PBD: less than 1000ppm

RoHS products specifically involved

RoHS aims at electrical and electronic products which may contain the above six harmful substances in all production processes and raw materials, mainly including daily household appliances, such as refrigerators, washing machines, microwave ovens, air conditioners, vacuum cleaners, water heaters, etc., and black household appliances such as audio and video products, DVD, CD, TV receivers, IT products, digital products, etc. Products, communication products, electric tools, electric toys, medical and electrical equipment.

Application scope of ROHS certification

  2003年1月27日,欧盟议会和欧盟理事会通过了2002/95/EC指令,即“在电子电气设备中限制使用某些有害物质指令”(The Restriction of the use of Certain Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Equipment),简称RoHS指令。基本内容是:从2006年7月1日起,在新投放市场的电子电气设备产品中,限制使用铅、汞、镉、六价铬、多溴联苯(PBB)和多溴二苯醚(PBDE)等六种有害物质。 RoHS指令发布以后,从2003年2月13日起成为欧盟范围内的正式法律;2004年8月13日以前,欧盟成员国转换成本国法律/法规;2005年2月13日,欧盟委员会重新审核指令涵盖范围,并考虑新科技发展的因素,拟定禁用物质清单增加项目;2006年7月1日以后,欧盟市场上将正式禁止六类物质含量超标的产品进行销售。
